St. Petersburg is cradle of the famous Russian ballet created by Marius Petipa in 19th century. There are many famous state theaters in St. Petersburg such as Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky. Unfortunately, these theatres very rarely go on tour outside Russia, therefore very few ballet lovers of the world are able to see the famous St. Petersburg ballet.

 

St. Petersburg Festival Ballet was created in 2009 to represent the best traditions and spirit of St. Petersburg ballet in long‐term European and world tours.

 

Elegance, grace, delightful lightness is what makes the St. Petersburg ballet different, the strict classic elegance, a fresh breath of the twenty‐first century, a perfect dance performance in combination with a truly royal splendor of costumes and scenery by world‐famous Set and Costume Designer Vyacheslav Okunev (Bolshoi Theatre, Mariinsky Theatre, La Scala).

 

During the last five years St. Petersburg Festival Ballet with a great success has toured in biggest stages of Europe such countries as Germany, Austria, Italia, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Iceland, Czech, Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Slovakia.

 

Just two interesting facts in year 2014: St. Petersburg Festival Ballet has toured with a five The Nutcracker performances in famous Harpa hall in Reykjavik together with Iceland Symphony Orchestra. In Christmas time St. Petersburg Festival Ballet made twelve the biggest Swan Lake shows with 48 swans on stage in Munich, Germany.
