The Institut Français of Madrid successfully hosted the premiere of SOMA, the new creation by the company Elephant in the Black Box—a stage work that breaks the boundaries between art, science, and perception, and affirms contemporary dance as a space for reflection, transformation, and collective sensitivity.

SOMA is presented as an innovative experience that invites audiences to contemplate the body as a true receptacle of emotions and tensions. Through the use of sensors, reactive lighting devices, and interactive technology, the piece establishes a living dialogue between stage and audience, in which the scenography and visual elements adapt in real time to the emotional responses of spectators.

With an excellent reception from both audiences and critics, SOMA establishes itself as one of the most stimulating proposals on today’s contemporary scene, demonstrating dance’s ability to engage with technology and generate new forms of emotional and collective connection..
