A show that expands the experience of a piano recital, a fascinating poetic exercise capable of dynamiting all kinds of borders

YO, PIANO proposes a step further in the staging of a solo piano concert. It creates a framework in which the already vast meanings of music are expanded through scenic experimentation, generating a sonic and visual journey toward the essential and the primal.

YO, PIANO explores form and the relationship between the performer and their music through the body–instrument–space connection, presenting the piano as a manipulable sound object and music as an emotional connector.

Pianist and composer Carlos Bianchini, together with musician and stage director Tagore González and scenographer Isis de Coura, have created this performance. The original compositions by composer Carlos Bianchini form the core of the concert.

This descriptive music, inspired by the composer’s own life experiences, enters into dialogue throughout the performance with more experimental sonic moments.

Electroacoustic explorations through the manipulation of objects and the piano’s own body, combined with electronic sound proposals, add new layers to the pianistic compositions and build bridges between the different scenes of the performance.

“A very elaborate hybridization of languages that included music, performance and video art with truly spectacular scenery and lighting design”

Luis Lles,
